Darwin himself didn’t know about Mendel’s findings, so Mendel’s clear ratios and dominant/recessive patterns were ignored.
It wasn’t until 1900—when three independent researchers (De Vries, Correns, Tschermak) stumbled on the same laws—that Mendel’s work was rediscovered and accepted.
